»Vienna Blood« wins Austria’s Romy International Award

»Vienna Blood« (»Liebermann«), has won the prestigious Romy International Award. Umut Dağ directed the 2nd and 3rd parts.

»Vienna Blood« is an English language crime drama, starring Juergen Maurer and Matthew Beard, written by Steve Thompson (Sherlock, Deep State), based on the best-selling “Max Liebermann” novels by Frank Tallis.

After Umut Dağ won the First Steps Award for his short film PAPA in 2011, he debuted with his first feature film KUMA as the opening film in the Panorama section of the Berlinale in 2012. His second feature film RISSE IM BETON also premiered at the Berlinale. After LANDKRIMI – ENDABRECHNUNG for ORF, he received great attention from audiences and critics in Germany with TATORT – “REBECCA” and the multi-award-winning film DAS DEUTSCHE KIND. For DAS DEUTSCHE KIND he was nominated for the Grimme Award 2019 and received the German Directing Award Metropolis, among others. In 2018, Umut directed two more TATORTS (SONNENWENDE and DAS MONSTER VON KASSEL). He made his international debut in 2019 with two episodes of the TV three-parter VIENNA BLOOD, which won the Romy International Award 2020.
In 2021, the German-Austrian miniseries AM ANSCHLAG – DIE MACHT DER KRÄNKUNG, which he directed and features a top-class cast, was released.
