Hassan Akkouch was born in Lebanon in 1988. As a child, he moved to Berlin with his family after his parents fled the Lebanese Civil War. The family spent many years in Germany with an uncertain residency status and experienced both deportation and return before finally rebuilding their lives in Berlin. These formative experiences have shaped Akkouch’s perspective and continue to influence his artistic work to this day.

He trained at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich and subsequently became a member of the renowned ensemble at the Münchner Kammerspiele.

He soon established himself as a television actor too, with roles in acclaimed productions such as Tatort and 4 Blocks. For his performance in Stephan Lacant’s Fremde Tochter (2016), Akkouch received a nomination for the Acting Promotion Award at the Munich Film Festival and was awarded the Munich Kammerspiele Promotion Prize in the same year.

Since then, he has built up an extensive body of work in film, television and theatre. His film roles include Sönke Wortmann’s Contra, the series Push and City of Blood, and Burhan Qurbani’s Kein Tier so wild. In 2024, he took on a leading role in Chris Kraus’s feature film 15 Years alongside Hanna Herzsprung. The film premiered at international festivals and once again highlighted Akkouch’s versatility as a leading actor in contemporary German cinema.

Alongside his work as an actor, Akkouch has built a parallel career as a screenwriter. His screenwriting credits include the series Zero (Warner/HBO Max), 17 (ARD) and the feature film Santa Habibi; several other projects are currently in development.
