Emilia Schüle came to Germany in 1993 as the child of Russian-Ukrainian parents. She developed a keen interest in the performing arts from an early age and began taking lessons in classical ballet and modern dance at the age of five.

She played her first leading role in a film in Freche Mädchen (directed by Ute Wieland). She made her breakthrough with her impressive performance in Tatort: Wegwerfmädchen. This was followed by numerous film and television productions, including Lena Love, Tod den Hippies!! Es lebe der Punk, the ARD series Charité, the successful Ku’damm series (56, 59, 63 and 77), the feature films Simpel, Jugend ohne Gott, High Society and Traumnovelle. Her work on LenaLove also led to her commitment to combating cyberbullying through the organisation Digitale Empathie.

Since 2016, Emilia Schüle has also been working internationally. Among other roles, she has appeared in the US series Berlin Station and Treadstone, as well as playing the title role in the international series Marie-Antoinette, which was produced for Canal+ and broadcast by the BBC, amongst others.

Her more recent work includes Karoline Herfurth’s box-office hits Wunderschön and Wunderschöner as well as Markus Goller’s Die Ironie des Lebens.

The ensemble film Der Heimatlose by Kai Stänicke premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival 2026.

Emilia Schüle plays the title role in Alina Materazzi’s feature film Girl with a Leica (a German-French-Italian coporuction).
