Agata Buzek was born in 1976 in Poland and trained at the Theatre Academy Warsaw, graduating in 1999. She established herself as one of Poland’s leading stage and screen actresses, working with directors including Andrzej Wajda (The Revenge), Peter Greenaway (Nightwatching), and Jerzy Skolimowski (11 Minutes). Her performance in Borys Lankosz’s Reverse (2009) earned the film five Polish Film Awards, and she received the Best Actress Award at the New European Film Festival for her lead role in Valerie (2007).

Agata Buzek has worked extensively across European film and television, including Anne Fontaine’s The Innocents, Claire Denis’s High Life, the Austrian-German thriller series Das Netz – Prometheus, and Michael Venus’s Schlaf.
