Jonas Holdenrieder was born in 1999 in Munich. He started acting at the age of 11 when he took a lead in the successful children film trilogy „Vampire Sisters”. He became well known to a wider audience through his appearance in „Suck me Shakespeer“ by Bora Dagetekin, which was one of the biggest German box office hits ever. In 2017 Jonas played a lead in Michael Bully Herbig’s feature film „Balloon“, which is based on a true story of two families’ spectacular escape from East Germany during the Cold War in a balloon. In 2021 Jonas won the Best Young Actor Award at the prestigious Max Ophüls Preis Festival for his performance in the first feature film „Trübe Wolken“. As well in 2021 he took over the lead in the feature film „Rumspringa“ produced by Constantin film for Netflix.
In 2020 Jonas Holdenrieder has started studying at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin which is one of the most acclaimed Academies in the German speaking language area.
