Jesper Christensen was born in 1948 in Copenhagen and is one of the most celebrated actors in Scandinavian cinema, with a career spanning nearly five decades. He has received the Danish Film Critics Award on multiple occasions and has been nominated for the European Film Award. His international breakthrough came through his recurring role as Mr. White in the James Bond franchise, appearing in Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), and Spectre (2015), opposite Daniel Craig.

Across his career, Jesper Christensen has collaborated with directors including Lars von Trier (Melancholia), Jan Troell (Maria Larsson’s Everlasting Moments), and Erik Poppe (Kongens Nei, presented at the Berlinale Panorama Special in 2016). He received the Best Actor Award at the Chicago International Film Festival in 2018. His most recent work includes Tomas Alfredson’s Trolösa, which had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in 2024, and Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value (2025).
