Ruby Commey was born in 1991 in Berlin and trained at the Universität der Künste Berlin, graduating in 2019. She has built a substantial career in theatre, with engagements at major German stages including the Deutsches Theater Berlin, the Berliner Ensemble, and the Schauspiel Hannover, where she worked with directors Stephan Kimmig and Friederike Heller. She has also been a recurring presence at the Maxim Gorki Theater, performing in productions directed by Pınar Karabulut, Ta-Nia, and Joana Tischkau.
Her screen work includes the mini-series Die nettesten Menschen, the feature Die geschützten Männer, Ladybitch, and Sheri Hagen’s Billie (2024). Which premiered at the Filmfest Hamburg.
