David Vormweg (born in 1991 in Cologne) grew up speaking German and French as his native languages and is also fluent in English and Persian (Farsi). He studied acting at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen/Bochum and has appeared on the stages of Schauspiel Köln, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus and Theater Dortmund. After graduating, he toured Germany for three years with his award-winning comedy theatre show Unendlich Luft.

Alongside numerous film and television appearances, he has worked in Tina Gharavi’s adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s Night & Day opposite Haley Bennett and can also be seen in the widely acclaimed film Cranko about the Stuttgart ballet director John Cranko, starring Sam Riley and directed by Joachim A. Lang. He also appears in Sarah Miro Fischer’s feature film Schwesterherz, which was selected for the Panorama section of the 75th Berlinale. He was also part of the cast of the series 30 Tage Lust (directed by Bartosz Grudziecki and Pia Hellenthal). In 2025, he appeared alongside J.K. Simmons in the thriller series Embassy, further expanding his international screen work. Since 2017, Vormweg has regularly worked as a voice actor, appearing in feature films and radio dramas, and has also given numerous readings. He is additionally active as a musician and composer.

Currently filming a leading role in a Netflix series, David Vormweg continues to expand his work across film and television, where he once again showcases both his dramatic depth and his comedic talent.
