Friede Clausz is a German cinematographer based in Halle (Saale) and Berlin, whose work spans arthouse cinema, major festival circuits and series. His feature 24 Weeks (Anne Zohra Berrached, 2016) competed in the Official Selection at the Berlinale and won a Silver Lola at the German Film Academy Awards, while Lemonade (Ioana Uricaru, 2018) screened in Panorama at the Berlinale and received a German Cinematography Award nomination. Brothers (Tomas Masin, 2023), received nominations for Best Film and Best Cinematography at the Czech Lion Academy Awards and was selected as official submission for the 96th Academy Awards.
He shot several series Der König von Palma (Damian John Harper, 2021) for RTL+, Informant by Matthias Glasner for arte and ARD as well as Stabil by Teresa Fritzi Hoerl and Sinje Köhler.
With Sind so kleine Hände (2026), a feature film about singer songwriter Bettina Wegner for theatrical release he is continuing his collaboration with director Anne Zohra Berrached.
Friede Clausz is a member of the European Film Academy (EFA), the German Film Academy (DFA) and the German Society of Cinematographers (BVK).
