Fanny Rösch was born in Munich and trained in Production and Media Business at the Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film (HFF) München, before continuing as a student in the Directing programme at the Filmakademie Wien. Her short film Idyll (HFF München/Mozarteum Salzburg, 2022) premiered at the Internationale Hofer Filmtage in 2022.
With her most recent short film Hyäne (Filmakademie Wien, 2026) Fanny continues her exploration of intimate, formally precise storytelling and was selected for Talent Days Vienna Shorts. She is currently developing her feature debut Lethe (co-written with Sharyhan Osman). As a writer and director, Fanny develops stories about family dynamics and the small crisis of everyday life using subtle humour. She is based in Munich and Vienna.
