Claudia Garde trained in Screenwriting and Directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and has since built a prolific and sustained career in German television drama, with a filmography spanning more than 25 years and over 50 directing credits. She received Grimme-Preis nominations for Die Frau am Ende der Straße (2008) and the Flemming series (2009 and 2010). Her television films Das Nebelhaus and Eine gute Mutter both received the Bayerischer Fernsehpreis.
Her career includes a long-running association with the Tatort franchise — across the Borowski, Dresden, Dortmund, and Blum strands — as well as Unter Verdacht (multiple episodes), the international co-production The Window (ZDF/FUJI TV, 4 episodes, 2019), and the ARD series Bonn – Alte Freunde, neue Feinde (Odeon Film, 2021), in which she also served as Headwriter. Her most recent credits include Tatort – Herz der Dunkelheit (MDR, 2024), which she both wrote and directed, and Spurlos in Venedig (ARD Degeto, 2025). She is developing a series for Wiedemann & Berg TV and will publish her first novel in 2027.
