Born in 1991 in Würselen, Akeem van Flodrop first gained attention through supporting roles in productions such as One Night Off (2021), The Kids Turned Out Fine (2022), and the RTL+ series Wrong – unzensiert (2022).
His breakthrough came in 2023 when he took on the lead role of Dawit in the ZDFneo comedy series I Don’t Work Here. The series, which addresses everyday racism and social issues through humor, earned critical acclaim, and Van Flodrop received the Blauer Panther – TV & Streaming Award for Best Actor for his performance. Since then, he has become a fixture of the German film and television landscape.
His further credits include Das Kanu des Manitu, Euphorie, and Horst Schlämmer sucht das Glück. Beyond his on-screen work, he has also lent his voice to numerous audiobook and radio drama productions.
Most recently, he joined the cast of the upcoming Netflix miniseries Liebe und Anarchie, directed by Hermine Huntgeburth and Charlotte Rolfes.
