Melodie Simina was born in Zurich in 1996. As well as German, she speaks English, French, Portuguese and Swiss German. From 2016 to 2019, she trained at the International Film Academy Cologne, after which she lived in London and Paris.

She received a nomination for the First Steps Award for Best Actress for Jerry Hoffmann’s short film I AM. The film was also nominated for the Student Academy Awards in Los Angeles.In 2025, she received a nomination for Best Actress at the César Awards for her leading role in the French co-production 37 – L’ombre et la proie.

Her most recent projects include, amongst others, the lead role in the ARD series Schwarze Früchte (2024), which earned her a nomination for the German Television Award, the series Die Düsteren (2025), directed by Lea Becker, and the lead role in the feature film Das Leichte und das Schwere (2025), directed by Erec Brehmer – her first lead role in a German feature film.
