Dorkas grew up in Braunfels/Germany. At a very young age, she accompanied her mother to her performances as a singer. Soon she started to develop a great passion herself to entertain people and to slip into different roles again and again. After an initial resistance by her parents she finally got her way leading to her first performances as a singer. At grammar school she founded a drama group and in her spare time she loved most to dance and play the piano. At the age of 15 a producer addressed her at a talent contest and invited her for test recordings and several record publications and first TV-appearances followed. After her A-levels, It was just out of curiousness that she applied as an extra at the city theatre in Giessen and unexpectedly she got her first role. Engagements at the city theatre in Munster and the Metropol Theater in Vienna followed and she was also on tour throughout Germany with a musical. In 1994, she won the third place at the Grand Prix de la Chanson in Dublin. Despite her success, Dorkas kept concentrating on acting and has been working for film and TV productions.
