Stage

One of the up-and-coming stars of the German film world, Emilia Schüle, has already received both critical and commercial acclaim. In 2014 Emilia won the “Best New Actress Award” at the German (DSP) Film Awards, as announced at the Berlin Film Festival, and the Young Talent Award at the Golden Camera Awards.

Born in Russia in 1992, her family moved to Germany when she was a baby. From a young age Emilia showed interest in the performing arts, and began dancing at age seven. Emilia made her debut in television in 2006, with the TV movie GUTEN MORGEN, HERR GROTHE which earned many awards. In 2008 she had her first main role in the feature film CHEEKY GIRLS, directed by Ute Wieland, a huge box office success in Germany. Her big break came after playing a main part in two episodes of Germany’s best know and most successful TV series, the crime drama TATORT. In both episodes (WEGWERFMÄDCHEN and DAS GOLDENE BAND), she impressed the audience as a young woman kidnapped and abused.

In 2014 she won one of Germany’s most esteemed awards, „The Golden Camera,“ as well as the prestigious GERMAN ACTORS AWARD. Also in 2014 alone, Emilia played main rolls in four different films from four different well-known directors. Those films are BESSER ALS NIX (Ute Wieland), LENALOVE (Florian Gaag), TOD DEN HIPPIES, ES LEBE DER PUNK (Oskar Roehler), and BOY 7 (Özgür Yildirim). Emilia is also the German voice of “Astrid” from HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 1 and 2.

In 2015 Emilia was starring in two historical miniseries, KU’DAMM 56, and CHARITÉ, both produced by UFA Fiction for German Second Television (ZDF). Last year, in 2016, Emilia was working with amazing directors such as Alain Gsponer for the movie JUGEND OHNE GOTT as well as Anika Decker in the new Henninger & Doll production HIGH SOCIETY.  In the new UFA Fiction production CHARITÉ (director: Sönke Wortmann), which is a big success in Germany at the moment, Emilia is playing the role of Hedwig Freiberg.
